Amanda is a resident of Austin and has enjoyed playing the harp since 1995.  She has played professionally at many different venues in the Central Texas area including weddings, receptions, high tea parties, real estate open houses, Christmas parties, church events and anniversaries.

Her extensive repertoire includes classical music, pop songs, traditional & contemporary wedding music, movie themes, inspirational music, and many international styles.

In 2005, she was the winner of a national scholarship competition sponsored by Guardian Life Insurance Co.  The award was given in recognition of her outstanding accomplishments as a successful young entrepreneur and founder of two businesses.  She also received a scholarship from the Austin Harp Society and enjoys participating in the local chapter.

Amanda is in her third season of performing with the Austin Wind Symphony, under the direction of Patrick Phillips.  The ensemble performs several concerts per year, with an exclusive repertoire of television and film scores.

In spring of 2007, she had the honor of performing with Josh Groban on his Awake World Tour for the concerts in Houston and San Antonio.

Amanda recently returned from a contract with the Cunard cruise line, where she provided entertainment aboard Queen Mary II.

In addition to her career as a professional harpist, Amanda teaches ballet lessons at the Austin School of Classical Ballet, where she is also a member of the premiere dance company the Austin Classical Ballet.
Amanda's Harps
Amanda performs on a concert-grand Aoyama Vega pedal harp.  The 46-string instrument stands 6 feet tall, weighs 73 lbs., and is constructed of maple wood with a light brown finish..  Handmade in Japan, the harp is elegantly adorned with wood carvings and gold detail.  The extended soundboard amplifies the rich sounds.  The seven pedals at the base connect with rods through the column to the strings, allowing for easy key changes and greater technical capacity than a lever harp.  The pedal harp is an excellent instrument for large settings, where greater sound capacity is required.

Amanda also owns a Salvi
Ana. The intermediate size of this lever harp allows for easier transportation, but has the look of a classical pedal harp.  The Ana has 38 strings, and at 5.3 feet tall, weighs just 44 pounds.  The harp has levers along the neck which control the tension of each individual string.  The Ana is perfect for small intimate gatherings, where space is more confined and the sound will reverberate more.

Amanda uses both of her harps to share her beautiful music with others.  Each harp has its own special qualities, and will add elegance and class to any setting.
