Hi Folks, I finally got my cruise photos put up online for viewing. Check out the cool album I put together on Snapfish.com! Now that my trip is over, I've been kinda a lazy bum about writing blogs. But, I have some ideas now of some things I'd like to write about, so watch for some more blogs to start appearing soon!

Who is your favorite artist?
Okay folks, now's your chance to share your thoughts! I want to hear who your favorite singer/band/composer/musician is, and why you love them so much. What is it about them that inspires you? How does their music affect your life? Send your answers to me at newsletter@austinharpamanda.com. I will pick a few of the entries to feature in my next blog edition. I'll get the ball rolling by telling you about one of my all-time favorite singers: Josh Groban. I first heard about Josh five years ago through a good friend of mine named Lee. I was over at her house visiting her daughter, and Lee called me into her room. She said, 'You've gotta hear this guy sing, Amanda. He's got the most beautiful voice I've ever heard!' Well, I was hooked. I listened to his music some online, and even more when I got a copy of his album "Closer" for my birthday. By the time his LIVE tour came around a year and a half later, I was a total die-hard fan. While it's true, Josh Groban has the voice of an angel, it wasn't his singing talent alone that inspired me. The lyrics he sings are so powerful, especially those with clear ties to faith, like "You Raise Me Up", and "The Prayer". I also admire Josh for being so sucessful at such a young age. He knew what he wanted to do, and he went after it, and with some luck of finding the right people to help him, he made it to the top of the music industry. It was a great privilege to me to have one of my own dreams realized- to play in the orchestra for not one, but two of Josh's concerts! I also had to follow a series of steps in order to reach that goal, and got a little lucky by making friends with the right people who could make it happen. Being able to support Josh's singing onstage was one of the highlights of my career as a harpist, and was an inspiring experience that I will never forget. Today his music is still a great influence on my own artistry, and I enjoy being able to perform some of the piano arrangements of his songs. Until next time, Amanda For more information about the singer Josh Groban, visit the official website www.joshgroban.com
