| Blog posted 3/21/08 "Today is Good Friday, and with Easter just a couple of days away, I wanted to give a special gift to all of my friends. I recorded my own arrangement of the hymn "How Deep the Father's Love", and I'm making it available absolutely free for anyone who would like a copy. We sang this song at my church last week, and the words really touched me. It is such a beautiful retelling of the Easter Story. Here, I'll let you read the words for yourself. How deep the Father's love for us, how vast beyond all measure That He should give His only Son to make a wretch His treasure How great the pain of searing loss; the Father turns his face away As wounds which mar the Chosen One bring many sons to glory Behold the Man upon a cross, my sin upon his shoulders Ashamed I hear my mocking voice call out among the scoffers It was my sin that held him there until it was accomplished His dying breath has brought me life; I know that it is finished I will not boast in anything; no gifts, no power, no wisdom But I will boast in Jesus Christ, His death and resurrection Why should I gain from His reward? I cannot give an answer But this I know with all my heart: His wounds have paid my ransom (REPEAT) I fully believe that Jesus is the Christ, the perfect Son of God, and that it was through his death on the cross and his resurrection on Easter Sunday that my sins have been paid for. Without the suffering he went through, I would still be wandering in darkness, trapped in the sinful life I was born to. But his love came in and changed my life the day I chose to make him the Lord of my life. His salvation is a free gift for anyone who wants it. All they have to do is accept the gift. I hope you enjoy this song, and I pray that through it God might touch your life the way he has in mine." -Amanda Woosley |
